Our Story

How it all started...

The Foursquare church was started by Sister Amie Simple McPherson in 1923 in Las Angeles, CA.  She was a traveling evangelists and passed through the Kansas City area.
The St Joseph Foursquare Church was birthed out of a revival in the 1950"s near Halls, Missouri. The first building was constructed at 6002 S 9th street.  In the Late 70' a new sanctuary was built on the same property and the original church building was used for Sunday school classes.   Eventually the classroom/office and fellowship hall was constructed and was attached to the sanctuary.

Expanding the vision...

We serve 80-100 meals at the Valley Community Center, a non profit soup kitchen once a month.  Through this intensive we are able to introduce the lost to Christ,  praying for the sick and seeing them recover. Jesus said, "When you have fed the least of these you have fed me... "  The church in operation outside the four walls...

Where we are headed...

We believe that God has called us to be the church in the book of Acts.  We're dedicated to the call of Christ to go and share the good news of the gospel of Jesus.  Mark 16:17-18 And these signs shall follow them that believe; in my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; they shall take up serpents ;and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. Much like the wake left  behind a boat, we should see evidence that we have been somewhere, and that the supernatural power of God was there also.
